Black is the Colour of Trend: Charcoal Water
Flavoured water has the most popular beverage across the globe. Water treatment professionals make sure that water is safe to use, and especially safe to drink. It’s just a twist of a handle way to make sure the first thing we do is to drink water. It’s a backstage job how the technologists have been using all kinds of methods to nitrify water, but one of their most common tools is activated carbon (sometimes called activated charcoal).
The tendency of water fortification is growing. We can notice more brands appearing in global markets that are simply flavoured water. The addition of natural flavours to carbonated water – or even carbonated spring water – gives a nice hint of fruit, without any additional Kcal or sugar content. It’s a refreshing upgraded water solution.
Activated charcoal is increasingly being used as a key ingredient across restaurants and bars. India has always taken time to warm up to new concepts, though we have a plethora of possibilities.
The source:
Activated charcoal can be made by burning coconut shells and collecting the carbon, which is then immersed in hot water. This extract is believed to absorb 100 times its weight. So, theoretically, one tablespoon of charcoal can absorb an entire football field of charcoal.
Marketed today as an ingredient beneficial for a detox, charcoal has traditionally been used for the dental care and as a cure for flatulence. Charcoal-based carbon filters have also been employed to purify water.
Like most food trends, using activated charcoal, too, was popularised by the West. Reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and actor Gwyneth Paltrow swear by activated charcoal in cold-pressed juices, and charcoal latte is now a rage in the US and even the Middle East.
Saint Aubin is the Indian subsidiary of Saint Aubin worldwide, with a focus on mineral water, soda, flavoured water and juices that we will manufacture and sell in the Indian market. “Healthy drinking is in trend. We plan to introduce herbal water, detox water, and natural water that will be available in near future, said the spokesperson from Saint Aubin in one of the interviews”.
